Last week we celebrated Homecoming. Students and staff brought the spirit by dressing up every day. Then we cheered together at the Pep Rally and got ready for the game!
Progress Reports were finalized this week. Parents- make sure you check on your students' grades and attendance regularly! Go to portal.austinisd.org to log into your Parent Portal to review your child's current grades and attendance. This week starts Hispanic Heritage Month. We celebrate and honor the history, culture, and contributions of the diverse Latino families at Travis, in Austin, and beyond! Austin ISD invites students to “Join the Fiesta” Talent Show!
The 2024 Hispanic Heritage Talent Show call for entries is open until September 30.
You children can submit videos of dancing, music or singing, as well as photos of drawings or paintings that celebrate Hispanic culture for more than $4,000 in prizes!
These can be in English or Spanish. Check some previous videos.
The award ceremony will take place Saturday, Oct. 12.

In this section we will focus on weekly Social Emotional Learning and Cultural Proficiency and Inclusion (SEL & CPI) themes.
This week's theme is Sharing Our Stories and Exploring Power Structures.

Flu season is upon us, and we want to ensure that our Rebels are healthy. Austin Public Health has upcoming vaccine clinics that offer free vaccinations for adults and children. You can also get your student's state required vaccines updated at these clinics. Supplies are limited, so please arrive early!
We are excited to share the details of Austin ISD's upcoming Family Empower Hour sessions, which provide valuable information and support to our students' families. The topic for the next meeting is Child Find and is scheduled for September 18 at 12:00 pm and then again at 6:00 pm on Google Meet. This session will explain how our district identifies and supports students who may need special education services. We will cover the steps from referral to evaluation, and how we determine eligibility for special education services.
