Starting on TUESDAY September 3, the car line for student drop off and pick up will move to the East side of campus. Cars will enter from Oltorf (nearest Starbucks) on the east side of campus, pick up students, and exit at the I-35 Frontage Road.

Starting on TUESDAY, all buses will drop off and pick up students in the front of the school. Buses will enter on the West entrance and exit at Schreiber.

Special Education and 504 Family Power Hour

The topic for the next meeting is Child Find and is scheduled for September 18 at 12:00 pm and then again at 6:00 pm on Google Meet. This session will explain how our district identifies and supports students who may need special education services. Schedule Changes

Our Counseling team is working as hard as they can to get schedules accurate. Over 300 changes were submitted to counselors and they are diligently working through the requests. We ask that students continue to attend their scheduled classes and wait until changes have been made. Priority schedules changes are being worked on now.

Travis is a Closed Campus!

We have a closed campus and all visitors must check in at the front office.

  • Only Seniors with ID's are allowed to leave campus for lunch. *** New Off Campus Expectations*** Starting 9/3

  • In good standing Academically and Behaviorally.

    1. Academics- Passing all classes at the 9 weeks.

    2. Behavior- No ISS, OSS or ALC placements

  • Following all Dismissal and Arrival procedures for lunch

    1. Two Dismissal points for staff to check ID’s

      1. Front door

      2. driveway exit near Starbucks

      3. Using crosswalk if walking across the street

    2. Need to have ID ready to show to staff to verify grade level.

    3. Students will not be allowed to leave campus after 1pm.

    4. Arrive to campus on time (excessively late can be reason to revoke privilege.)

LOSS OF PRIVILEGE WILL BE RESET EACH 9 WEEKS/ALC placement will reset at semester.

  • All students in grades 9-11 are not permitted to leave campus at any point throughout the day. Please talk to your student about the importance of staying on campus during the school day. Students often want to go to 7/11, Whataburger, or Starbucks during the school day. This is not permitted and will result in administrative correction.

  • AISD does not allow students to have food delivered to school. Please talk to your students about the safety concern this raises and the need to eliminate this practice at school.

  • Any student being picked up early must be checked out through the Front Office. Parents and family members are not permitted to pick students up early from other parts of the building.

Attendance Reminders

Students are required by law to be in attendance 90% of the time or they will not receive credit for their class.

Here are a few tips to consider:

  • Have your student arrive to school on time and attend every class period, especially the OAT—official attendance-taking period (10:30 AM middle schools and high schools; and, homeroom for elementary).

  • A student who is tardy to class will be subject to the consequences established at each campus in accordance with the possible consequences in the AISD Student Code of Conduct.

  • What happens if your student needs to see a doctor/dentist/therapist? If possible, we encourage you to schedule appointments outside of school hours. Obtain and submit a medical note for documentation to provide to your student’s campus Attendance Specialist. Documentation is needed so the absence will be coded correctly.

  • When you receive an absence notification, please follow up with your student and the campus attendance specialist. If you have documentation for your student’s absence, please submit as early as possible (it is recommended to submit within 48 hours). If you believe a teacher has marked a student incorrectly, please have your student reach out to the teacher of the marked period.

Student Chromebooks & ID's

Senior ID's have been distributed during the week of 8/26/2024. Seniors must present their ID's in order to leave and return campus during lunch. They've been doing a great job with this expectation. Underclassmen will be receiving ID's soon and all students will soon have Chromebooks distributed. Chromebooks and ID's will be required for students each day. We want students prepared to learn with charged Chromebooks & ready to identify themselves with their ID's everyday.
