Car Drop-off Safety!

Please help us keep all our students safe, and let us help you move through the car line quickly by following these guidelines:
- Please make sure your child is ready to get out of the car right away. Hair brushing, hugs, putting materials in backpacks, etc. should happen before you enter the car line. 
- Wait for the cars in front of you to go through the line; do not pull ahead of the line.
- To make drop-off go more smoothly for everyone, please stay in the car. We’ll open doors and help your child unbuckle, get out, put on their backpack.
- A quick good-bye will help us get your child into class and other parents on their way. To avoid accidents, please avoid a continued goodbye through the window! 
- So that staff can get to their morning duties, the gate to school grounds closes promptly at 7:40. If your child is getting out of the car at 7:40, they’ll need to walk around to the front of the building and go in the main doors. 
- The car line is a single line. Please don't go around other cars unless directed by a staff member.

Z-Fiesta!

Come celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with us at Z Fiesta on Friday, September 20 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on the outdoor stage behind the school!

Enjoy musical performances by the Zilker Dual Language students and Mariachi Relampago. We'll have face painters, a lucha libre mask making station, as well as some tasty treats & snacks brought to you by the PTA and some sponsors; SusieCakes and Siete Foods.

Zilker Fun Run - Oct 10

Save the Date for our 2nd annual Fun Run! Last year's event was a BLAST for students, staff, and parents, and we're working to make this year's race even better. Foam cannons, Principal sundaes, more cowbell.... you get the idea. 

The Fun Run is also the concluding event of our Fall fundraiser, which raised over $60,000 last year. This year's fundraising efforts will build on last year's success with two key differences:
1. Students will still receive prizes for their fundraising efforts, but we're pursuing more useful, practical prizes.
2. Zilker will keep 100% of the donations. No partner agency or partner commission this year. We'll run the whole program "in-house."

PRE-K - 5TH GRADE PERFORMANCE 
We hope to see you on Friday, September 20th for ZFiesta! All classes have been learning these selections in honor of Hispanic heritage month to perform together on the outdoor learning center stage in the 5:00 pm hour. ZFiesta Songs

4TH & 5TH GRADE ONLY
Zilker Panther Choir auditions continue to be accepted for the duration of September. There is a $25 membership fee and we will meet every Tuesday at 7:00 a.m. in the Music Room. Choir members will be announced September 30th and our first rehearsal is Tuesday, October 1st.  Please reach out with any questions: daniella.hughes@austinisd.org 

STATESMAN CAP10K - APRIL 2025 
I am once again the Captain for team Zilker Panthers in the annual Statesman Cap10K. This weekend is the last chance to save with a current fee of $35. The fee will rise to $40 on Monday, September 23rd. Our school team already has 21 members of staff, students, and parents. We'd love to add more on the course and to see friends cheering for us on Sunday, April 6, 2025. There's plenty of time to train!

The H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards are accepting nominations until October 7th! 

The H-E-B Excellence in Education program awards cash grants to finalists, winners, and their schools. A nomination starts a journey that can lead to impactful benefits for our community.

Nomination categories include:

  • School Counselors

  • School District

  • Early Childhood Facility

Clothing Donations

We keep a variety of extra clothes in the nurse's office in case of accidents, spills, etc.

We are currently running low on extra clothing and would appreciate any clothing donations. Please bring your donations in to the Front Office.

Gifted and Talented (GT) Services offer specialized support for children who perform or show the potential to perform at a remarkably high level of accomplishment when compared to others of the same age, experience, or environment.

New ID Scanners

AISD has implemented a new ID scanning software. Since this is a new system, any previously saved ID information did not rollover. This means that every adult will have to bring their ID and re-scan it upon their first visit to campus during the school year. We appreciate your patience as we implement this new system.

We are excited to announce that our school is now using Voly, a new volunteer management system! If you are interested in volunteering on campus, please visit austinisd.voly.org to complete a quick background check.

This process is required for all volunteers, field trip chaperones, etc. and will help us ensure a safe and secure environment for our students. Thank you for your support and participation!
