Thinkery at Zilker!

This past week we embarked on a collaborative partnership with Thinkery’s STEAM Learning Institute focused on Novel Engineering and Design Challenges! The program brought play-based learning to life as 4th & 5th grade students engaged with exciting engineering challenges inspired by this year’s One School One Book, Legends of Lotus Island. Through creative problem-solving and hands-on projects, students explored engineering concepts, built prototypes, and deepened their love of storytelling and innovation. It was an exciting opportunity to spark creativity and critical thinking while having fun! The students projects will be on display during our school Steam Night event next month! *** This workshop was brought to the students by Zilker’s Arts in Ed PTA Committee by way of The Austin Ed Fund Grant that Zilker was awarded this year!

Lost and Found

Please check the Lost and Found on the front school steps for any missing jackets, water bottles, etc.

Items will be donated when we get back on January 6!

2025 Science Fair

The 2025 Science Fair will take place on Thursday, January 16. Students in any grade level can participate, though participation is optional.

Exhibits will be on display during the school day on January 16 for students to visit and in the evening at STEAM Night for the community.

Nominate for the Salute Awards!

Salute is Austin ISD's annual event recognizing some of the district’s outstanding team members for their continued dedication to student excellence and achievement in our schools. 

All AISD staff, students, family, and community members are invited to nominate Austin ISD staff members in the following categories:
-Campus Clerical/Office Support Staff of the Year
-Teaching Assistant of the Year
-Custodial/Facilities Maintenance Staff of the Year
-Transportation Staff of the Year
-Food Service/Warehouse Staff of the Year
-Campus Safety and Security Staff of the Year
-Librarian of the Year
-Counselor of the Year
-Assistant Principal of the Year
-Principal of the Year

Please submit nominations using this form. Nominations close on January 15, 2025.
