It's time for our big Fall Fundraiser!
7 days of "Spirit Week" culminating in a Fun Run around Little Zilker park on Thursday, Oct 10!
Everything you need to know:
-The goal is to raise $70,000, which will fund various initiatives for Zilker students, staff and facilities.
-Just like last year, students create an online account to collect donations. The more they bring in, the more prizes they earn. As a learning from last year, we've worked to make the prizes more practical.
-The Fun Run will take place during school hours. All students are encouraged to run or walk, and everyone is welcome to come cheer them on!
-Starting now - you're able to create your student's online account, and start collecting donations. Go to https://runsignup.com/zilkerfunrun
-Monday, Sept 30 starts Spirit Week. Morning announcements will highlight Fun Run progress everyday leading up to the Fun Run
-Tuesday, Oct 1: first day prizes will be distributed, continuing each morning until the Fun Run.
-Thursday, Oct 10: Fun Run!
In celebration of our Fun Run Fundraiser, we will have the following spirit days at school:
Monday, Oct. 7th - Silly Socks
Tuesday, Oct. 8th - Wild Hair
Wednesday, Oct. 9th - Hat Day
Thursday, Oct. 10th - Wear a Zilker or sports team shirt/jersey
Lynn Boswell, AISD Trustee for our district (District 5), is excited to meet with the Zilker community on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 7:45am. She will be sharing information on Proposition A, a ballot initiative to increase funding for schools, and answering any questions.
Can't make Oct 8? A similar session will be held Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 5:15 - 6:15 in the cafeteria of Barton Hills Elementary.

News from Ms. Sullivan
Dear Art Families,
I’m excited to share that I will be sending home your child’s art twice this year: once at winter break and again at the end of the school year. If you'd like to see your child's artwork sooner, please consider registering for Artsonia. I’ve included a picture to guide you through the registration process.
Artsonia not only allows you to view your child's art, but you can also purchase it to support our art program. Additionally, a special feature of Artsonia is that it creates a keepsake book of your child's artwork!
I’m doing this for my son, who is in 5th grade this year, as a graduation gift. I hope you’ll join me in celebrating your child’s creativity!
Thank you,
Traci Sullivan

Dyslexia and SPED Parent Group!
Let’s come together as parents and caregivers to support each other and our students with any conditions that impact learning. Including but not limited to dyslexia and our kiddos receiving special education support through IEPs and 504 plans.
Each one of us has shared a unique experience & while we may not have all the answers, together we can find them while listening, learning, and encouraging each other. Outside of meeting as parents/caregivers, some ideas are to invite occasional speakers to join us for various questions we may have outside of Zilker and/or with our school support team who work directly with our children.
This group will be an ever-changing resource as we learn more along the way and with each other’s contributions, questions & feedback!
Yearbooks are Here!
Please use the link to complete the online ordering process. There are two purchasing options. One is a standard yearbook for your child. The other OPTION is to purchase a book to donate. Purchase early as books are $27.00 per book until January 7th!
