Happy New Year, Winn Montessori community! Our staff is returning rested and ready for the challenge of helping every student meet their academic and social emotional goals. Our academic focus this spring semester will be reading comprehension with written responses and math problem solving. You can learn more about this at Breakfast with Ms. Bridget on Friday, January 9 at 8:00 am in the library.

In our last five months together, we will celebrate our community while also working to ensure every student and staff member secures a spot at a new school next year. While Winn is closing, Montessori continues at Reilly, and we will be contacting families in January to confirm their desired school and support with enrollment.

Today, I spoke with staff about our legacy. Next year, at their new school, I hope other adults see a student working independently, reading smoothly, or offering kindness to a peer and think, "Of course! That student came from Winn."

We have created a beautiful community together--let's enjoy it as long as we can.

All families will need to choose a new school for their student next school year. Families have the choice to attend Montessori at Reilly Elementary school in the English or dual-language classrooms. Right now, we will have at least 12 general education Montessori classrooms at Reilly with special education classrooms discussed this Friday.

Our goal is to get every student and staff member who wants to go to Reilly Montessori confirmed in January!

Please see the important dates below.

December 9: Austin ISD survey sent to families for them to share their plans for next year. Please complete the survey to save your seat at Reilly so you can officially enroll in Enroll Austin in February.

January 5: Winn Office Staff began calling families to discuss their plans for next year and submit the names of families interested in attending Reilly to the district. 

January 12: Families can officially apply for Reilly Montessori in the AISD portal through Enroll Austin. 

February 15: Families MUST complete online registration for Reilly, their new zoned school (Andrews or Pecan Springs) or request a transfer to a new school at Enroll Austin.

Questions? Call the front office at 512-414-2390. We will host some enrollment events in January and February to support families in this process.

As it gets chillier, please send your student with a coat or jacket. We will go outside as long as it's not raining and the wind chill is above 30 degrees. If your student needs a coat, please reach out to Mr. Juan by calling the front office.

• Wind Chill 35° to 38° without precipitation:

  • 45 minutes of exposure with a 15 min indoor break at the 25 min mark. Extremities must be covered.

• Wind Chill 31° to 34° without precipitation:

  • 30 minutes of exposure. Extremities must be covered and jackets/coats are required

• Wind Chill 25° to 30° without precipitation:

  • No Outside Activity

• Wind Chill under 25°:

  • No Outside Activity

Welcome to second semester, Winn Montessori!  We’re so excited to see students back in classrooms and to get 2026 started with you.

This is our last semester together as a school and we're going to make it COUNT.  We have some great events coming up, so check out the school calendar for more info.  Also, check out the support page on the school website for information on volunteering and how to support the school in other ways.  Remember that 100% of funds we raise go right back to supporting students and staff at our school and EVERY PENNY COUNTS!  We have our annual Circle of Games Field Day, Staff Appreciation, and Theatre Week coming up this spring, so we will need all the help we can get.  Be sure to get on our email list as we publicize volunteer opportunities to that group often.
