Winn Montessori

August 2025 Newsletter

An authentic Montessori experience for ALL children.

Message from Ms. Bridget

Welcome back Winn Montessori families! The front office team and I have been back for a couple of weeks preparing the school for your child's return. Included are some important back to school updates, but overall, our systems and routines are staying the same for this school year: same arrival and dismissal plans, same uniforms, same start and end times, and same committment to learning.

Our focus right now is ensuring all students are enrolled in classrooms and preparing the school for staff to return. Our response times will be slower for all other questions or concerns. As always, please reach out!

Your principal,
Ms. Bridget

Classroom Rosters

The goal in our Montessori classrooms is for the child to remain with their Montessori guide for the full three year cycle. However, changes in enrollment or guide may mean that a child is moved into a different classroom in order to balance numbers. Ms. Bridget has already completed a draft of this school year's roster. Although she does not take specific requests for a particular guide, she will take any feedback you have into consideration.

Classroom guides will have contacted all families by end of day, Wednesday, August 13. If you do not get a call or email, please reach out to the front office to confirm your child is registered for the 25-26 school year.

New classroom guides this year include: Ms. Jingyu (Primary ESL), Ms. Liz (Lower EL ESL), Ms. Laurel (Lower EL DL), and Ms. Sha'londa (Upper El ESL). Twp more teachers pending.

As of now, all students have a full-time classroom guide ready to start the first day of school.

Arrival and Dismissal

Arrival begins at 7:10 am with gates and doors opening and our staff ready to welcome students.

Primary students and older siblings will continue to be dropped off in the parking lot on Susquehanna lane. Families MUST stay in their vehicles in the car lane. If you want to walk your child to the gate, please park and walk.

Elementary students without younger siblings will enter at the main doors by the front office. Families are encouraged to drive into the Manor drop-off lane and let their older student walk around the building to the front entrance. This will limit car back-ups on Susquehanna. See the map for a picture!

At 7:40 am, all doors and gates are locked and staff begin their lessons. Please do not arrive after 7:40 am as this causes disruption to our morning routine. Families who arrive late due to an appointment or other concern must walk their students to the front office and wait for them to be checked in.

Dismissal begins at 3:10 pm. No students will be checked out between 2:45 and 3:10pm. If you arrive after 2:45pm, you will need to wait until dismissal begins to pick-up your student.

School Supplies

If you are purchasing supplies: 2025-2026 supply list

If you purchased a kit through the PTA in the spring, they will be delivered to classrooms before the first day of school. A LIMITED number of kits will be available for purchase at Meet the Guide night.

Please keep in mind that students will not maintain personal school supplies and all items will be shared with the full class. If a student is unable to bring supplies, we will ensure they have all they need.

*Note that all PreK 3 and PreK 4 students will have rest time every day and should bring a blanket or nap mat with them every week.  It will be sent home each weekend to be laundered.

Uniforms!

We wear uniforms at Winn Montessori that can be purchased at various retailers such as Amazon, Walmart, Target or any second-hand store.  Our uniform consists of:

  • Navy, gray, or khaki tops, bottoms, dresses, or jumpers (no denim!)

  • Any Winn Montessori t-shirt

  • Tennis shoes (no Crocs, sandals, or flip flops)

The PTA will have the Uniform Closet available to shop (for FREE) during Meet the Guide and is looking for donations to stock it over the next few weeks. If you have any uniforms that your student has outgrown, please drop them off in the front office any day before 4 PM prior to the start of school.
