A Letter from Ms. Bedford

Hello Smallville,

As we close out this incredible fall semester, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the hard work and dedication of our students and staff. Each contributes to making our campus a place of excellence, learning, and joy. Witnessing the growth, creativity, and determination that fill our halls every day has been truly inspiring.

This semester has been nothing short of amazing. From outstanding performances in fine arts and athletics to academic milestones and community-building events, our Cougars have showcased their brilliance and heart in countless ways. The joy it brings me to serve as the principal of such an extraordinary school is immeasurable.

As we head into the well-deserved winter break, I encourage everyone to take this time to rest, recharge, and spend quality moments with loved ones. Rest is essential for our minds and bodies to continue growing and thriving. Whether you’re enjoying holiday traditions, reading a favorite book, or simply relaxing, make this time meaningful and restorative.

Let’s come back in January ready to build on our successes and continue striving for excellence in everything we do. I am so proud of what we have accomplished together and can’t wait to see what the new year holds for our Cougar family.

Wishing you all a joyful and peaceful holiday season.

Stay Present Cougars,

Bedford

Access to Healthy Food During Winter Break

With many Austin ISD students living in food insecure households, access to healthy food may be challenging when the district is closed. Families can use the community resources below to find free meals in their area while Austin ISD offices and schools are closed for the winter break:

  • Central Texas Food Bank (www.centraltexasfoodbank.org)

  • United Way for Greater Austin - ConnectATX (www.connectatx.org)

  • Texas Health and Human Services - Call 2-1-1 or (877) 541-7905 to speak to a live operator.

  • United Way for Greater Austin (www.connectatx.org)

  • Salud y Servicios Humanos de Texas - Llame al 2-1-1 o al (877) 541-7905 para hablar con un operador
