Hello Smallville,
As we head into this holiday week, let’s remember the importance of rest and reflection. Whether you're spending time with loved ones, catching up on a good book, or simply pausing to appreciate life’s small joys, take a moment to recharge and be fully present in the moment.
This season is also a great time to reflect on gratitude. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing PTA and community members for providing delicious pies for our Cougar staff. Your kindness and support remind us how fortunate we are to be part of this wonderful Cougar family.
Speaking of gratitude, last week’s Smallville Discovery Night was a shining example of the Cougar spirit! We welcomed prospective families eager to learn about our outstanding programming. It was inspiring to see their excitement as they discovered what makes our campus so special. Thank you to everyone who helped make the event such a success—your dedication and enthusiasm left a lasting impression!
As we enter this time of thanks, let’s also remember the power of community and connection. Whether it’s through a warm meal, a kind word, or simply being present, we have the opportunity to make each day brighter for those around us.
Enjoy the week ahead, Cougar family! Rest, reflect, and soak in the beauty of the season.
Have an amazing holiday week and we will see everyone back on campus December 2nd!
Stay Present Cougars,

Access to Healthy Food During Fall Break
With many Austin ISD students living in food-insecure households, accessing healthy food may be challenging when the district is closed. Families can use the community resources below to find free meals in their area while Austin ISD offices and schools are closed for the fall break:
United Way for Greater Austin - ConnectATX (www.connectatx.org)
Texas Health and Human Services - Call 2-1-1 or (877) 541-7905 to speak to a live operator.

These two itineraries were picked with a lot of thought put into them. Students (and adults!) will get to see so many iconic places on tour, including a great number of World Heritage Sites. The hands-on experiences chosen are great as well, the landmarks we'll visit, and the sights you'll see are all world-class: From the Island of Capri "faraglione" to the Acropolis, to swimming on Heraklion beaches in Crete, to stepping on Kyoto's most amazing temple - a national treasure itself, to visiting technology museums in Tokyo and Japanese gardens in Osaka, walking in the steps of Gladiators in the Colosseum and Roman Forum, or learning about how Pompeii got buried in ashes with Mount Vesuvius in the background, or stepping into Delphi and learning about oracles in Greece, it's going to be amazing!
