A Letter from Principal Bedford |
Hello Smallville,
I hope you had a great week! We have so much to celebrate and look forward to on campus in the week ahead.
First, a huge congratulations to our track teams for an incredible showing this season! Our boys team brought home the Zone Championship, and our 7th grade girls earned an impressive 3rd place overall finish. Across both teams, our athletes broke 9 school records, earned 5 city champion titles, secured 5 second place finishes, and had 16 athletes place in their events. That’s an outstanding accomplishment and an example of their hard work and dedication.
Looking ahead, we’re excited for the upcoming District Tennis Championships next week. Please join us in cheering on Sara Randall and Jack Randall, who will be representing our school. Both are currently ranked in the top 5 out of 22 players in the tournament!
Next week is also Teacher Appreciation Week, a special time for us to recognize and thank the incredible educators who support and inspire our Cougars every day. We encourage everyone to take a moment to show their appreciation in any way they can.
Finally, don’t forget that Splash Fest, our annual fundraiser, is happening next Friday! Be sure to grab your wristbands and raffle tickets in advance. We'd love to see everyone there for a fun event supporting our campus.
Thank you all for your continued support, and have a fantastic week ahead!

❤️ A Huge Thank You to Our Amazing PTA! |
As we look back on this year, we are overwhelmed by the constant support, energy, and love our PTA has poured into our school. From the big events to the small "just because" gestures, you make our school a better place for students and staff alike.
Rain or Shine, You’re the Best!
A massive shout-out for today’s Teacher Appreciation Coffee Truck! Even with the rain coming down, our incredible PTA volunteers were out there with smiles on their faces, making sure every staff member got a warm (or iced!) pick-me-up.
Seeing you all deliver those drinks in ponchos and under umbrellas truly warmed our hearts. We are so lucky to have such a dedicated group of parents who go above and beyond—even in a downpour—to make us feel celebrated.
I would also like to give a special shout out to Emily Matthews who has gone above and beyond for us this year. So much so, we nominated her for Volunteer of the year with the district! Thank you Emily we love the new and improved teachers lounge you worked so hard on last summer!!!
Thank you for all you do! ☕️☔️

Our Biggest (and Funnest!) Event of the Year! |
Get ready to make some waves! Splashfest is officially around the corner, and it’s the one event your student will be talking about for years to come. In the blur of middle school memories, Splashfest is the day that stands out—it’s all about massive inflatables, pure excitement, and the rare joy of kids just being kids, in person and off the screens.
📺 Watch the video below to see all the high-flying fun!
Get Involved & Get Your Tickets
To make this high-energy day a success, we need our amazing parent community to dive in:
🎟️ Buy Wristbands & Tickets: Don't let your student miss out on the action! Secure their spot early so they can jump straight into the fun.

🙋 Volunteer Your Time or Treasure: We need a "village" of adults to help keep the vibes fun and the environment safe. With so much excitement, we just need friendly faces on hand to remind the kids to "mellow out" if things get a little too wild.

This is a rain or shine event, but if it is cold (like today burrr) we will postpone it to a warmer date in May.

Splashfest - Incoming 6th Graders Invited! |
Splashfest is our big end-of-year, after-school carnival for students and families. We’re excited to welcome our current middle school students and incoming 6th graders to join the fun!
Because Splashfest is designed specifically for middle school students, including our incoming 6th graders, the activities and setup aren’t suited for younger siblings or elementary-aged children. To ensure the safety of our youngest children, we ask that attendance be limited to middle school students and incoming 6th graders.

Educational Travel Programs at Small
At Clint Small Middle School, we are proud to have multiple teachers who sponsor Educational Travel Programs each year. These programs are structured group trips for students, organized in partnership with professional travel providers. The providers take care of the big details—like flights, hotels, meals, guides, and safety—while our teachers lead the learning side of the experience.
What is an Educational Travel Program? An Educational Travel Program is more than just a trip. It’s an opportunity for students to step outside the classroom and experience history, culture, and language firsthand. Whether exploring another U.S. city or traveling abroad, students gain independence, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the world.
Why might families be interested?
Students experience hands-on learning tied to classroom topics.
Travel builds maturity, problem-solving, and independence.
Professional travel companies provide safety, structure, and support 24/7.
Payment plans and group arrangements make these experiences more accessible than traveling on your own.
👉 With multiple teachers sponsoring programs, families can choose from a variety of destinations and opportunities that best fit their student’s interests.
Here is a list of upcoming opportunities
