This week, I’m shining a spotlight on what makes Smallville so special which is our incredible Cougar Spirit! From students leading with kindness and going above and beyond to meet our campus expectations. They’re excelling academically, performing on stage, and giving their all in athletics, they’re proving that being a Cougar means striving for excellence in every way. 

Of course, none of this would be possible without our amazing teachers. Their dedication, creativity, and passion for student success create a learning environment where every Cougar can thrive. From engaging lessons to the countless ways they support students beyond the classroom, our teachers make a lasting impact every day. Hello Smallville,

Due to the possibility of inclement weather, we are rescheduling tonight’s dance to next Friday, February 28. While we all were looking forward to the event this evening, you and our Cougar's safety is our top priority. 

Next Friday, the dance will take place at the same times, 6th grade from 4 pm-5:30 pm and 7th& 8th graders from 6 pm-7:30 pm. All previously purchased tickets will be valid for the new date. Also, ticket sales will continue next week for any students who still wish to purchase one.

We encourage your students to keep their wristbands on, but if your student needs a replacement, we can accommodate them.

We appreciate your understanding and flexibility. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Hello Cougar Families!

We are seeing an increase in illnesses and are deep in flu-season. Any flu-like symptoms or low-grade fever constitute a student staying home to recover.  As a reminder, students need to be fever-free (99.9 or below) for 24 hours without the use of medication before returning to school.   For more information please refer to the Austin ISD website.

Rally Day is a powerful opportunity for parents who care about public education to have their voices heard, influence lawmakers, and fight for the resources and policies our schools need to thrive. These two itineraries were picked with a lot of thought put into them. Students (and adults!) will get to see so many iconic places on tour, including a great number of World Heritage Sites. The hands-on experiences chosen are great as well, the landmarks we'll visit, and the sights you'll see are all world-class: From the Island of Capri "faraglione" to the Acropolis, to swimming on Heraklion beaches in Crete, to stepping on Kyoto's most amazing temple - a national treasure itself, to visiting technology museums in Tokyo and Japanese gardens in Osaka, walking in the steps of Gladiators in the Colosseum and Roman Forum, or learning about how Pompeii got buried in ashes with Mount Vesuvius in the background, or stepping into Delphi and learning about oracles in Greece, it's going to be amazing!
