Hello Smallville,
What an amazing week! Our Cougars have been shining bright in every way, and I couldn’t be more proud to share some of their incredible accomplishments with you.
Our fine arts students truly outdid themselves in their winter performances. The Choir, Orchestra, and Band filled the air with beautiful music, leaving us all in awe of their talent and dedication. These moments remind us how the arts bring joy to our community. And the excitement doesn’t stop there tonight, our Theatre students will take the stage to share their hard work and creativity.
Meanwhile, our students have been working hard in the classroom as well. They’re finishing up their Reading and Math MAP tests, and I’m thrilled with their focus, determination, and growth. It’s a joy to see them taking steps toward their goals as we approach the well-deserved winter break.
As always, thank you for your unwavering support of our students and school. It’s the partnership between families and staff that helps our Cougars thrive. Let’s carry this energy and spirit into next week and beyond!
Have a warm and wonderful weekend

Dear Parents,
As we approach the holiday season, we are reminded of the many people who work tirelessly to make our school a safe, welcoming, and clean place for our children. One such group that often works behind the scenes is our wonderful custodians. Their dedication and hard work ensure that our school is always ready for students, staff, and families each and every day.
For many years, our teachers and staff have come together to raise funds to show our appreciation for our custodians during this special time of year. We would love to extend this tradition and invite YOU—our amazing parents—to join us in making this gesture of gratitude even more meaningful.
We are asking for your generous donations to help us create a special gift for our custodians. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will go directly toward a holiday bonus that will show our custodians just how much we value and appreciate them.
How You Can Help:
Donate online - Venmo Jennifer Newell (Last 4 phone 1609)
Cash donations can be sent to the main office. Please put Attention: Custodial Donation.
Our goal is to raise enough funds to provide all 5 custodians with a meaningful gift that reflects our collective appreciation for their hard work. We know that this small gesture will make a big difference and show how much they are valued by our entire school community.
Deadline for Donations: Thursday, December 19th at 4:00 pm
We hope you will join us in this effort and help us spread joy to the amazing custodians who help make our school the incredible place it is. Thank you for your continued support and generosity!

Access to Healthy Food During Winter Break
With many Austin ISD students living in food insecure households, access to healthy food may be challenging when the district is closed. Families can use the community resources below to find free meals in their area while Austin ISD offices and schools are closed for the winter break:
United Way for Greater Austin - ConnectATX (www.connectatx.org)
Texas Health and Human Services - Call 2-1-1 or (877) 541-7905 to speak to a live operator.
Thanks, Smallville!

These two itineraries were picked with a lot of thought put into them. Students (and adults!) will get to see so many iconic places on tour, including a great number of World Heritage Sites. The hands-on experiences chosen are great as well, the landmarks we'll visit, and the sights you'll see are all world-class: From the Island of Capri "faraglione" to the Acropolis, to swimming on Heraklion beaches in Crete, to stepping on Kyoto's most amazing temple - a national treasure itself, to visiting technology museums in Tokyo and Japanese gardens in Osaka, walking in the steps of Gladiators in the Colosseum and Roman Forum, or learning about how Pompeii got buried in ashes with Mount Vesuvius in the background, or stepping into Delphi and learning about oracles in Greece, it's going to be amazing!
