Parents, Strawbridge Photography has sent your students individual spring picture package home last week under the honesty policy. This means that they expect payment back for the sheets that you chose to keep. In addition, a part of the funds received from the sales of the pictures is returned to school as a fundraiser. The class picture's have not arrived yet, once they are here we will send them home with your student.

School-Based Volunteer
School-based volunteers help address campus needs throughout the school year. From field trip chaperones to volunteering to organize a school-wide event, numerous opportunities exist to help Austin ISD schools achieve their goals. Any adult that would like to volunteer at Lalla Odom must complete a back around check, especially if you wish to be a field trip chaperone or participate in school events during the day. Background check can take anywhere from 5-10 bussiness days.

What are Campus Advisory Councils (CACs)?
Campus Advisory Councils are committees of parents, students, business and community representatives, teachers, principals, and other campus staff. The formation of CACs is required by state law (Texas Education Code, §11.251). Specific functions of CACs include providing review and comment on:

Membership of Campus Advisory Councils is determined at the campus level. Complete a standard membership application (Español). Completed applications should be submitted to your campus principal. Detailed information on membership criteria is contained in the CAC Bylaws (Español).

Upcoming Austin ISD Community Events and Resources
Austin ISD Connect FEST, happening on March 8th, 2025, at Mendez Middle School (5106 Village Square Drive Austin, TX 78744) from 10 am - 1 pm, is a community event aimed at connecting families with educational programs, services, and support systems within our schools, strengthening the bond between the community and the school district.
The event will feature six interactive stations designed to engage and inform families in a fun, educational way. Please fill out this registration form completely.
Stations include:
Basic Concepts Station: Learn key public education concepts like repurposing, recapture, school finance, and the impact of voting on education through fun activities.
ED TALKS Station: Short talks by the Superintendent and other district leaders including Austin ISD’s Finance, Governance, and Talent Strategy. These talks will be multilingual, and we will be offering interpretation services.
Mini Showcase Station: Highlighting programs like P-Tech, CTE, and Dual Language at elementary, middle, and high school levels.
Resource Fair: Community booths with resources and services.
Kids’ Station: Interactive activities and fun games for kids to learn about civic engagement and basic financial concepts.
Food Truck Station: Free meals from two different international food trucks and pizza slices for kids. We will offer vegetarian options. There will also be live entertainment like dance groups, Marching Band Drumlines, children's choirs, and much more!
There will be many activities for kids, gifts, and plenty of information to explore. Best of all, the FOOD and TRANSPORTATION are completely FREE!
TRANSPORTATION SERVICES from DELCO CENTER at 9:30 am (4601 Pecan Brook Dr., Austin, TX 78724) and ANDERSON HIGH SCHOOL (8403 Mesa Drive, Austin, TX 78759) will be available.

Austin ISD Connect FEST, que se celebra este 8 de marzo, en Mendez Middle School (5106 Village Square Drive Austin, TX 78744) de 10 am - 1 pm, es un evento comunitario diseñado para conectar a las familias con programas educativos, servicios y sistemas de apoyo dentro de nuestras escuelas, fortaleciendo el vínculo entre la comunidad y el distrito escolar. El evento contará con seis estaciones interactivas diseñadas para involucrar e informar a las familias de una manera divertida y educative. Complete este formulario de registro por completo.
Las estaciones incluyen:
Estación de Conceptos Básicos: Aprende conceptos clave como reutilización de espacios, recuperación, las finanzas del distrito escolar y el impacto de votar en la educación a través de actividades divertidas.
