We were so excited to welcome our students back to school on Tuesday—and what an amazing first week it’s been! Our hallways are more crowded than ever before, but it’s been energizing to see so many smiling faces, real conversations, and a strong sense of community from day one.
One of the most noticeable (and positive!) changes this year has been students engaging with one another instead of their screens. We know our new no phone policy has been an adjustment, and we truly appreciate everyone’s efforts to shift their habits and support a more focused, connected school environment.
Please continue to talk with your student about the importance of keeping their phone off and in their backpack during the school day. Additionally, we ask that you do not text or call your student during school hours. If you need to reach them, please contact the front office, and we will ensure your message is delivered.
If a student needs to contact their parent during the day, they can come to the office or speak with an administrator, and we will assist them. This partnership between school and home is essential to the success of this policy. Thank you for your support.

During the 89th Texas Legislative Session, Senate Bill 12 (SB 12) was passed, which requires school districts to obtain written parental consent before providing certain services or allowing student participation in specific school-sponsored activities.
We want to make sure you’re fully informed about how this impacts your child’s experience this year.

Mental Health-Related Services

We’re looking forward to a strong second week of school and continuing the momentum we’ve already built. I also hope to see many of you at our Back to School Knight on Monday. Back to school Knight is a great opportunity to connect, learn more about what’s ahead this year, and celebrate the start of another fantastic year at McCallum.
