Dear Parents,
Welcome to September! As we start a new school year, we want to share some helpful tips to support your child's learning at home.
Tips for Managing Homework:
- Establish a consistent routine by setting aside a specific time and quiet space for homework each day.
- Encourage your child to read for at least 15-20 minutes daily to build their literacy skills.
- Break larger assignments into smaller, manageable parts and offer praise for their efforts.
- Stay in touch with teachers if you have questions or need clarification on assignments. Class Dojo is the BEST way to get a hold of your child's teacher.
If There’s No Homework:
Keep your child's curiosity and learning alive with everyday activities:
- Cooking together: Involve them in measuring ingredients, following recipes, or setting the table to develop math and organizational skills.
- Gardening or nature walks: Explore plants, insects, and the outdoors to foster curiosity and understanding of the environment.
- Creative projects: Drawing, crafting, or building things can enhance fine motor skills and creativity.
- Reading and storytelling: Share stories, discuss their content, or create your own stories together.
Remember, learning happens everywhere! Your involvement and encouragement make a big difference in your child's educational journey.
Thank you for your continued support!
Warmly,
Ms. Espinoza
