As we gear up for an incredible summer break, May is packed with fun events and important updates to keep our school community thriving. Let’s finish the year strong with positivity, safety, and collaboration!

📚 Library Books – Let’s Finish Strong!

Please help your student locate any missing or overdue library books. All books should be returned by May 16th. This will give Ms. Claire Stoner enough time to complete her inventory and reach out to families about any outstanding items. Let’s clear those shelves and celebrate our readers!

🚍 Field Trip Fun & Safety First!

To ensure an amazing and safe experience for everyone, please note these important protocols:

- Voly Approval: All parent volunteers must create an account and submit a background check at austinisd.voly.org at least 3-4 days before the trip. This ensures quick clearance and smooth check-in.

- District Clearance: Only parents with approved district clearance may participate.

- Check-In: Volunteers must check in with Ms. Espinoza to receive their Voly clearance and a Navigate360 sticker.

- Travel: Parents are encouraged to follow the bus in their own vehicles for safety.

- Entry & Meals: Volunteers are responsible for their own entry and meal fees at the field trip location.

- Leaving with Your Child: If you plan to leave with your child during the trip, please sign out with the homeroom teacher.

🎓 Attendance – Every Day Counts!

Texas Education Code 25.087 ensures students’ absences are excused when properly documented. Students need to attend at least 90% of their classes to stay on track.

How to Report Absences:

- Email medical or legal documentation, or a parent note, to crystal.rodriguez@austinisd.org. Alternatively, submit via the link on our website or in the right column.

Please include your child's name, date of absence, and reason. Your cooperation keeps our attendance records accurate and helps your student stay engaged!

🔒 Visitor Protocol – Safety and Security

All visitors must present a valid ID and go through the Navigate360 background check system. A visitor sticker must be worn visibly at all times while on campus.

- At least one contact profile for each student must be active to gain access.

- Campus may close for certain events; advance notice will be provided.

🎉 After-School Events – Fun & Safety Go Hand-in-Hand!

To ensure everyone’s safety, a parent must be present and actively supervise during all after-school activities.

- Students without adult supervision will not be admitted.

- School rules remain in effect during these events—respect, responsibility, and safety are everyone’s responsibility.

- Any unsafe or disrespectful behavior may lead to removal from the event.
