Crockett Early College High School

Crockett Conexión Week of October 13th

A space for announcements, celebrations, and information about upcoming campus events!

Hello Cougar Families,

I am sure many of you have seen and engaged in conversation around the Draft AISD School Consolidations Proposal, and may have questions about what this means for Crockett and your students.

What is not changing is our commitment to College, Career, and Life Readiness for Every Cougar. Every Day. As an AVID National Demonstration School, Crockett will continue to break down barriers, insist on rigor, and cultivate an inclusive space where students can challenge themselves academically and be their true and authentic selves.

In this proposal, Crockett ECHS has a major boundary change between Austin HS with changes between Akins ECHS, Travis ECHS, and Bowie HS. Crockett will therefore have a larger zoned enrollment but we will continue to have space to welcome transfer students. If you currently attend Crockett ECHS, you can continue to do so, or choose to attend your new zoned campus if your address was reassigned. Any student can apply to transfer to another campus. See the proposed Transfer Policy changes.

AISD will host Preliminary Plan Question & Answer Sessions during the month of October. Please also reach out to Principal Shana King with questions or concerns.

I hope to see our prospective and current Crockett Families at the Showcase and Fall Festival this Friday from 5:30- 7:30 (see more info below). The showcase is open to the public, and is a wonderful way to engage with our students and programs and see in person what makes Crockett so special!

Student ID's Required for Entry

Crockett students were given their permanent 25-26 photo ID's on Monday during homeroom. Students are expected to show this photo ID any time they enter the building. Please support your student with coming up with a system to keep track of this ID and bring it to school each day. Students will only receive one replacement ID, and additional ID's will be printed with a $5 fee. Thank you for your partnership in campus safety.
