Happy November, Cougars!

It has been an eventful few weeks in our community! I had so much fun playing Loteria last month, honoring students in the first annual Ceremonia de Excelencia Latina, and seeing our community come together for an evening of food and games at the Crockett Fall Festival and Showcase. I saw impressive performances at pep rallies and Dia De Los Muertos from guitar, mariachi, choir, Band, TexAnns, cheer, and Ballet Folklorico. I also want to extend a huge congratulations to volleyball, tennis, football, cross country, and band for their hard work and success during their seasons!

Austin ISD has also released the updated Draft School Consolidations Plan. Austin ISD understands this is a lot of information. Please review the updated plan, including how it may affect your family, and share your feedback by joining our upcoming Consolidation Q&A Session or submitting a new online comment card. To find your school-specific information, review the individual campus maps (Crockett specific boundaries are on page 175) or input your address into the school locator website.

This month I am looking forward to the start of basketball and wrestling season, and the first Theatre production of the year The Lost Girl on November 6, 7, 8. November is also a short, but very important month for academics. With less than 6 weeks left in the semester it is critical that we all exhibit our Collective Commitment of “Timeliness” in regard to attending all classes on time, and completing school work when assigned to stay on track and earn our fall semester credits. Crockett Twilight is now meeting Monday through Thursday from 4:45-6:15 in the library for academic support or attendance recovery. Please let your teachers, counselors, or administrators know what support you need to close out the semester.

We’ve had an incredible start to the year! Together, we’re building a vibrant Crockett community that celebrates culture, beautifies our campus, and supports every student’s success.

✅ This past month, PTSA:

Hosted a Voting in Texas session on registration and civic engagement

Filled the staff fridge with drinks and snacks

Supported Fall Fest & Showcase

Shared #CrockettVoices stories from families and staff

Treated staff to “You’re all that and a bag of chips”

Planted ferns and maintained the front garden
