Hello Covington Families,
We are just two weeks away from winter break, and I want to take a moment to thank all the parents who came out to support the Theater Holiday Show and those who attended our CAC meeting on Wednesday. Your continued support makes all the difference in building a strong Covington community.
Last week, we hosted our annual Fine Arts Extravaganza, where incoming 5th-grade students visited our campus and enjoyed incredible performances from our Fine Arts department. The excitement and energy from the students were contagious—they can’t wait to be part of the Covington family!
This week, most students will complete their Middle of the Year (MOY) MAP Assessment in ELA and Math. If you haven’t received your child’s Beginning of the Year (BOY) MAP scores and MOY goals, you will receive them soon. I encourage you to sit down with your child and talk about their progress. Here are a few helpful questions you can ask:
What was your BOY MAP score, and what is your MOY goal?
What strategies are you using to reach your growth target?
How do you feel about your progress so far?
What can I do to support you as you work toward your goals?
Finally, parental involvement continues to play a key role in our school’s success. Whether it’s volunteering for events, helping in the front office, or simply being a visible presence on campus, your support matters! If you’re interested in volunteering, click the links below to sign up.
Thank you for being such an important part of our Covington community!
Let’s finish the semester strong!
Your proud principal,
Cedric Maddox
