I wanted to address an important and growing concern that affects the health and well-being of our students. Over the past few weeks, our staff has observed a noticeable rise in incidents involving vape pens among our students. This trend is not unique to our school and is part of a broader issue being reported by schools across the state and country. However, we take this matter very seriously and want to be proactive in keeping our students safe and informed.

Why This Is Concerning:

Vaping devices are often small and easily concealed, making them difficult to detect. These devices contain THC and nicotine, which are harmful to developing brains. Additionally, some vapes may contain unknown or dangerous substances that pose serious health risks.

How You Can Help:

• Talk openly with your child about the dangers of vaping and the importance of making healthy choices.

• Be aware of what vaping devices look like as they often resemble USB drives, highlighters, or other everyday items.

• Monitor your child’s social media and online activity, where vape products are sometimes promoted.

• Encourage your child to speak to a trusted adult if they feel pressured to try vaping or see it happening at school.

We understand this can be a difficult conversation, but your involvement is key to preventing further use and ensuring our students remain safe and focused on learning. If you have concerns or need support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our counseling team or administration.
