Bear Families,
This is an exciting time of year for our students as summer break creeps closer, but it is also a time when we often see a shift in behavior as routines begin to loosen and the end of the year approaches.
We are committed to finishing the year strong academically, socially, and behaviorally and we need your help.
At school, we continue to emphasize simple but important expectations: students should be respectful, responsible, and focused on learning each day. These core expectations are consistent across classrooms and help ensure a safe and productive environment for all students.
We ask that you take a few minutes to talk with your child about the importance of:
1. Staying engaged and putting forth their best effort each day
2. Following school and classroom expectations
3. Treating peers and staff with respect
4. Being on time and prepared for class
5. Making positive choices, even when excitement about the end of the year builds
Please remind your child that behavior and effort still matter. School expectations remain in place through the last day, and students are accountable for their actions. Inappropriate behavior can impact participation in end-of-year activities and events.
Middle school students are still developing decision-making skills, and this time of year can be challenging as they balance emotions, social dynamics, and increased independence. Your guidance at home makes a significant difference in helping them stay focused and successful.
We are proud of the growth our students have made this year and want every student to end the year on a positive note. Thank you for reinforcing these expectations and partnering with us to ensure a strong finish.
