Principal's message

Bailey Families,

ONE MORE WEEK!!! As we head into the final week of the semester, I want to take a moment to thank you for your partnership and support. This time of year is always filled with excitement, and our students have been working hard to finish strong while also enjoying the many celebrations that make this season special.

Over the last week and the next several days, our campus has been and will be buzzing with winter performances from our talented Fine Arts programs including Band, Orchestra, Guitar, Steel Drums, and Choir. These concerts are a true highlight of the year, and we’re grateful to our directors and students for the countless hours they’ve invested to bring these shows to life. We hope you’ll be able to join us and cheer on our Bears.

As we close out the semester, please help us remind students to stay focused, take care of themselves, and finish the week with positivity and responsibility. The excitement of the holidays is wonderful, but we want all students to continue demonstrating the great behavior and effort we’ve seen throughout the fall.

On behalf of our entire team, I want to wish you and your family a joyful and restful holiday season. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in January, recharged and ready for an outstanding spring semester.

Happy Holidays,

Brad Lancaster

Principal, Bailey Middle School

From our Counselors:

During the week of December 15th, our counseling department will be presenting a classroom lesson on suicide prevention. This lesson is designed to help students recognize warning signs, understand how to seek help, and know how to support themselves or their peers. Our goal is to equip every student with age-appropriate tools that promote emotional safety and well-being. We understand that these topics can be sensitive, and we want to partner with you in ensuring your child feels supported. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about the content or purpose of the lesson.

If you feel your student may need emotional support following this lesson, or if you would like to opt your student out, please email our counseling secretary at rebecca.carrabine@austinisd.org by December 12th.
