Principal's message

Bailey Families,

It’s hard to believe we are already this far into the year, and we are incredibly proud of the growth, resilience, and positive momentum our students are showing each day. From classroom learning to extracurricular activities, our campus feels energized and focused as we head into the final days of the semester.

With the holiday season quickly approaching, this is an exciting time for our students, but it can also be a time when routines and focus are more challenging to maintain. We encourage you to talk with your child about managing that excitement while still staying engaged and responsible at school. A simple conversation about staying organized, treating others kindly, and keeping expectations in mind can make a big difference over the next few weeks.

Teachers will continue monitoring student progress, providing meaningful feedback, and preparing students for upcoming assessments and projects. This is also a great time to check in with your child about their goals, celebrate their successes, and help them finish the semester strong.

Thank you for your ongoing trust and collaboration. We are grateful for the strong community that surrounds Bailey Middle School, and we look forward to ending the semester on a positive note together.

Brad Lancaster

Principal, Bailey Middle School

From our Counselors:

During the week of December 15th, our counseling department will be presenting a classroom lesson on suicide prevention. This lesson is designed to help students recognize warning signs, understand how to seek help, and know how to support themselves or their peers. Our goal is to equip every student with age-appropriate tools that promote emotional safety and well-being. We understand that these topics can be sensitive, and we want to partner with you in ensuring your child feels supported. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about the content or purpose of the lesson.

If you feel your student may need emotional support following this lesson, or if you would like to opt your student out, please email our counseling secretary at rebecca.carrabine@austinisd.org by December 12th.
