Principal's message

Bailey Families,

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us for our Veterans Day program this morning. Our students, staff, and community members came together to honor the brave men and women who have served our country, and it was a truly moving event. From the student performances to the reflections shared, our campus shined with pride and respect.

A special thank-you goes to Ms. McGarry who organized the program, our student leaders and performers, and of course, the veterans and families who took time to be with us. Their presence and stories remind our students of the importance of service, sacrifice, and citizenship.

We are incredibly proud of our Bear community for creating such a meaningful moment of learning and gratitude. Thank you for helping us model for our students what it looks like to honor and appreciate those who serve.

(See pictures from the ceremony below)

Sincerely,

Brad Lancaster

Principal, Bailey Middle School

From our Counselors:

During the week of December 15th, our counseling department will be presenting a classroom lesson on suicide prevention. This lesson is designed to help students recognize warning signs, understand how to seek help, and know how to support themselves or their peers. Our goal is to equip every student with age-appropriate tools that promote emotional safety and well-being. We understand that these topics can be sensitive, and we want to partner with you in ensuring your child feels supported. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about the content or purpose of the lesson.

If you feel your student may need emotional support following this lesson, or if you would like to opt your student out, please email our counseling secretary at rebecca.carrabine@austinisd.org by December 12th.
