Election 2024 is a wrap! A big thank you to Austin voters for showing their support in approving Prop A!

In case you missed it...LBJ Early College High School reached a milestone celebrating 50 years of excellence. The celebration combined homecoming festivities and a special proclamation by the City of Austin.

Dear Austin ISD community,

With the passage of Austin ISD Proposition A in Tuesday’s election, voters in the Austin community chose to invest in our public school teachers, our essential public school employees, our students, and our community’s future.

That future is brighter today thanks to the strong support of Austin voters, whose votes reflect the value our community places on our neighborhood public schools. We know Austin ISD faculty and staff are integral to our community and to the success of our students. The Austin community affirmed that commitment with a $41 million investment in our educators and our students. 

This $41 million investment means the district will fund raises for 85% of district teachers and staff. It will also allow us to hire critical positions that support our students including content interventionists and mental health professionals. And it will add new instructional support for our teachers. You can learn more about the impact of this funding on our schools and staff, as well as next steps in addressing the district budget deficit on our website.

We are thankful to Austin voters who were willing to make this investment at such a critical moment for our district because they know that the future of Austin is in our public schools.

Austin ISD is continuing the transition to Google Workspace Plus! This upgrade will allow Austin ISD staff access to a host of additional Google workspace features.

Why it Matters: Google Education will allow us to streamline our collaboration, offer a safe environment in regards to data privacy and equip teachers with additional tools needed to enrich student learning.

Yes, and...This transition supports our ongoing budgetary needs by reducing the use of redundant tools.

The Details: Implementing these Google tools will occur in phases as shown in the graphic above. Over the next few months, you can expect additional communications with more details.

Incoming freshmen interested in auditioning for McCallum Fine Arts Academy should attend tomorrow's showcase. More information can be found through the district's website.

Friday, Travis Early College High School will host a groundbreaking celebration. The groundbreaking will be celebrated with performances by Travis Early College High School students.

And, don't forget, Monday is Veterans Day. Thank you to our Veterans for your service and sacrifice.
