Hello everyone! I hope everyone has been keeping WARM!
On a personal note, I was grateful for the two bad weather days at the beginning of this week, if only so I could recover from a very anxiety-ridden journey home from New Orleans (ask me about it if you want to hear about multiple canceled flights and almost missing a connection!)
Also, I hope everyone was able to check out our amazing offerings at the Course Fair! It's always a great chance to see what amazing offerings Anderson has for our students, and it's always a great chance for all of us to meet face-to-face.
Finally, I want to acknowledge that we've just finished Holocaust Remembrance Week, January 26-30, 2026. As one of the darker periods of all of modern history, it cannot be overstated how important it is that we never forget the 6 million Jewish lives cut short, along with the millions of other Poles, Slavs, Soviets, and others. This week is a reminder that we must carry in our hearts the lessons learned about standing up for others, that our differences are to be embraced rather than feared, and that we must be willing to recommit to being upstanders in the face of acts that we know are wrong. Our dedication to the value of all human lives and human experiences will protect us from falling victim to the same mistakes that humanity has made in the past, and we must never again be indifferent to the evils of the world. We remember the atrocities of the holocaust and honor the lives lost by continuing to tell their stories, with the hope that we choose a better future for all.
Let's get into it! |

School-based SAT for Juniors - March 3, 2026 |
Free SAT School Day for Juniors – March 3, 2026
All Anderson HS juniors will take the SAT during the school day on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Students are automatically registered by Anderson HS, and there is no cost to families.
The SAT is an important milestone in 11th grade. In Texas, qualifying SAT scores can be used to demonstrate Texas Success Initiative (TSI) college-readiness exemptions, which are used by Texas public colleges for enrollment and placement. SAT scores are also widely used in college applications and scholarship consideration. SAT scores can also help students meet TEA CCMR Markers.
In preparation for the test, Anderson counselors have given SAT Prep presentations in English 3 classes. Students were also provided an SAT Prep Toolkit with free practice resources to support independent preparation via College Board's BlueBook/Khan Academy and students created personalized practice plans in IXL via the student portal.
Students in 9th, 10th, and 12th grades will have a normal school day on March 3rd. Additional details about test-day procedures and reminders will be shared with students as the date approaches. |

| A Message About Project Graduation 2026 |
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are just about 1 week out from the most fabulous night of fun, friendship, dinner, dancing, silent auction, and more at our Parent Party themed “Top Gun” on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 7pm at Shalom Austin JCC. Tickets and sponsorships are on sale now HERE. This adult-only party is open to all parents, not just the Class of 2026, so grab some friends and plan to join the fun! The more the merrier!
Extra credit opportunity! Do you have something to donate to our silent auction? Please let us know HERE. Examples include Goods (home goods, jewelry, and other gifts), Experiences (vacation homes, tickets to sporting events, hotels and restaurant gift cards and more), Services (photography, decorating, orthodontics/dentistry, pet-related, etc.) We are open to anything you have to offer. Thank you!
We have another Profit Share coming up next Wednesday! La Mancha on Hancock Rd. will give 10% of your meal back to Anderson Project Graduation. You must mention Anderson HS PG26 when you order. You can show the flyer displayed below to ensure your meal counts toward our total. Stop by ANY TIME during the day (3PM – 9PM) on January 28th and take advantage of this generous offer. Thank you to La Mancha Tex-Mex Tavern for supporting PG 2026!
The Project Graduation Committee has been working hard to ensure a fun, safe, lock-in event to be held on graduation night, Friday, May 29, until the wee hours of Saturday, May 30. The goal is to keep our students off the road on an evening that traditionally has a higher risk of motor vehicle accidents. Please mark your calendars as all graduates will need transportation to/from the event. Drop off will be late on Friday; pick up will be early on Saturday. We will send out location and exact times in the coming months. Make sure you & your Class of 2026 Senior are following us on instagram - @ahs_projectgrad_2026. This will be our main form of communication leading up to the event, as well as on the night of the event, and this is how we will announce the prize winners.
Thank you for your help in making PG 2026 a HUGE SUCCESS! Sincerely, Kim Schocket, Tiffany Galligan, and Betsy Fredrickson Anderson PG26 Co-Chairs |
